Our Commitment

CookWise is committed to making its website accessible to people with disabilities, in accordance with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Service Accessibility), 2013 and IS 5568 / WCAG 2.0 AA.

Accessibility Adjustments Made

• Skip-navigation link on every page for keyboard users.
• Core navigation, forms, and recipe workflows are operable by keyboard.
• Screen-reader compatible: ARIA landmarks, labels, and live regions throughout.
• Colour contrast is reviewed against WCAG 2.0 AA minimum ratios (4.5:1 for normal text).
• Full right-to-left (RTL) layout support for Hebrew.
• Informative images use alternative text and decorative icons are marked accordingly.
• All form fields have accessible labels and error descriptions.
• Dynamic content updates (chat, upload progress) announced via ARIA live regions.
• Page language declared on every page (html lang attribute).

Known Gaps

We are continuously working to improve. Currently known limitations:

• Some third-party content (e.g. payment widgets) may not fully meet IS 5568.
• PDF recipe exports have not yet been audited for screen-reader compatibility.
