Terms of Service

Effective date: March 14, 2026  |  Last updated: March 14, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the CookWise platform. Please read them carefully before creating an account. By using CookWise you agree to these Terms. The Hebrew version is the legally binding version for Israeli residents. To read in Hebrew, use the language picker in the navigation menu.

1. The Service

CookWise is operated by CookWise Israel, located at Rehovot, Israel ("CookWise", "we", "us").

The Service provides AI-powered recipe management, automatic ingredient cost calculation based on live Israeli supermarket price data, meal planning, and related features accessible via cookwise.app ("the Platform").

For questions about these Terms, contact us at cookwisesupport@gmail.com.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By registering, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Account Registration and Security

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at cookwisesupport@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their explicit authorization, share your account credentials with others, or use automated methods to create multiple accounts.

4. Subscription Plans and Pricing

Available Plans

CookWise offers a free Trial plan and paid subscription plans (Solo, Pro, Business). The features included in each plan are described on the Plans page. Plan features may be updated from time to time; material reductions in features of a plan you have already paid for will entitle you to a pro-rated refund of any prepaid amount.

Billing and Auto-Renewal

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period, your subscription will automatically renew at the then-current price. You will receive an email reminder before each renewal. The renewal charge will be applied to the payment method on file.

Price Changes

We will notify you by email at least 30 days before any price increase takes effect. If you do not cancel before the effective date, you will be charged at the new price from your next billing cycle.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain full access until then. We do not charge a cancellation fee.

Statutory Cancellation Right (Israeli Consumer Protection Law)

General consumers: Under the Israeli Consumer Protection Law (5741-1981, as amended), you have the right to cancel your subscription within 14 calendar days of the date of your original purchase (or the date you received a written summary of the transaction, whichever is later) and receive a full refund.

New immigrants (עולים חדשים), senior citizens aged 65+, and persons with disabilities: You have the right to cancel within 4 months of the date of your original purchase.

To exercise this right, contact us at cookwisesupport@gmail.com with your account email and the word "cancellation". We will process your refund within 14 days.

Refunds Outside the Statutory Window

Outside the statutory cancellation window, subscription fees are generally non-refundable for the current billing period. We will consider refund requests in cases of documented technical failure on our part that substantially prevented use of the paid features.

5. Free Trial Plan

New accounts start on the free Trial plan, which includes limited features as described on the Plans page. The Trial plan does not automatically convert to a paid plan. If you choose to upgrade, you will be prompted to enter payment information at that time.

6. Your Content

Ownership

You retain full ownership of all recipes, meal plans, and other content you create or upload to CookWise ("User Content"). We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your User Content.

License to CookWise

By submitting User Content to the Service, you grant CookWise a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service for you. We will not sell your recipes to third parties or use them to train AI models without your separate, explicit consent.

AI Processing of Your Content

When you use AI recipe parsing, the text of your recipe is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. See our Privacy Policy for details. By using AI features, you consent to this processing.

Prohibited Content

You may not upload content that:

  • Infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party
  • Contains malware, harmful code, or exploits
  • Is defamatory, harassing, or unlawful under Israeli law
  • Is false or misleading in a way that could harm other users

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or another user's account
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Platform
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service in a way that could harm its performance
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written permission
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

8. Intellectual Property

All software, design, trademarks, logos, and technology comprising the CookWise platform (excluding your User Content) are the exclusive property of the Company and its licensors, protected under Israeli and international intellectual property law. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of our intellectual property to you.

9. Disclaimers

Not medical or nutritional advice. CookWise provides cost estimates and recipe organization tools. Nothing on the Platform constitutes medical, dietary, or nutritional advice. Users with dietary health conditions should consult a qualified dietitian or physician before making decisions based on recipe or cost information provided by the Service.

Price accuracy. Cost calculations are based on publicly available supermarket price feed data (Israeli mandatory transparency feeds). Prices are updated periodically but may not reflect real-time in-store prices, promotions, or regional variations. CookWise makes no guarantee of price accuracy.

Service availability. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service with reasonable advance notice.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Israeli law, CookWise and its directors, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption) arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to CookWise in the 12 months preceding the claim, or ₪100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in this section excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Israeli law, including liability for willful misconduct or gross negligence.

11. Account Termination

By You

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your recipes and personal data will be permanently removed from active systems within 30 days, subject to retention requirements described in our Privacy Policy.

Data export: Before deleting your account, you may export your recipes and data from the account settings page. Exported data is provided in a machine-readable format.

By CookWise

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, engage in fraud, or use the Service in a manner that harms other users or the platform. We will give you reasonable notice and an opportunity to remedy the breach before termination, except in cases of serious violations (e.g., illegal activity, security threats).

If we terminate your account for reasons other than your breach of these Terms, we will provide a pro-rated refund of any prepaid subscription fees.

12. Marketing Communications

We will send you marketing emails only if you have opted in to receive them. In accordance with the Israeli Communications Law (Anti-Spam), every marketing email includes a clear unsubscribe link. You may also manage your communication preferences in your account settings. Unsubscribing from marketing does not affect transactional emails related to your account and subscription.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms that cannot be resolved by mutual agreement shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Rehovot, Israel.

Nothing in this clause affects your statutory rights as a consumer under Israeli law, including your right to bring a claim before the relevant consumer protection tribunal.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect and update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may cancel your account before the effective date. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

We will not make changes to these Terms that deprive you of statutory consumer rights guaranteed under Israeli law. Such rights apply regardless of any contrary provision in these Terms.

15. General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and CookWise.
  • Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
  • No Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it in the future.
  • Language: The Hebrew version of these Terms is the controlling version for Israeli residents. In case of conflict between language versions, the Hebrew version prevails.
